Grampa's Love
Grampa Rick and Carson taking time out and doing some bonding on Father's Day.
Carson just learned how to crawl going forward instead of a backward scoot.
Also learned some yoga moves. Got to keep the "core" strong.
Favorite pastime is tasting anything he can hold on to.
It's so fun to be with grandpa.

Conference Weekend = Family Gathering
Everyone came over for dinner on Sunday. Kenzie took some great pictures of the kids I wanted to post. The most powerful talk I heard at Conference was Elder Hollands talk on Christ and his crucifixion. It left a lasting impression on me.

Carson's Colage
Lachelle put this really cute colage of Carson on her blog and I had to show off my grandbaby! He's 5 months now and such a handsome little gentleman. This just shows how fast they grow up. He's already wearing 12 month old sizes. I got to go to the Botanical Gardens with him this week and we walked through the butterfly exhibit. Not as many butterflies this year compared to last. But it was fun to see them land on people. Carson is starting to roll over and does a great high five. We just love him to pieces.

Carson's blessing day
We had fun helping Carson get ready for his big day. Grampa helped him get dressed, he didn't seem to mind all the fuss. Danny gave a nice blessing, Danny and Lachelle and Lachelle's Grandmother all bore their testimonies. Carson slept through the blessing and all through the sacrament meeting. We all went back to Danny's to have delicious soup, corn potatoe and chicken tortilla soup, cornbread muffins and for dessert chocolate layered trifle. The weather was a bit nippy but not too bad to sit outside.

Carson's first Christmas

Just had to show off my grandbaby. This Sunday he gets his baby blessing. We are all so excited. I thought these pictures were so darling. Danny has a great camera and actually has his own photography business on the side, if anyone is interested in family pictures, weddings etc.
Anyway thought I'd post a few pictures Danny took.

Start your Engines - Carson
Baby Carson is only 6 days old and he already knows all you need to know in this world to get by:
Sleep - Eat - Poop and a little gas. But he wouldn't be a green boy if he didn't do that. He's just cleaning out the pipes and getting ready to start his engines. He's lost a pound but that's normal and will gain that back. He's got the best disposition always happy unless he needs a change or is hungry. Danny's two weiner dogs love him and watch over him constantly. Shelby has kind of lost her appetite which is probably good because she needed to loose a few lbs. Carson has all the comforts of home. Even a baby wipe warmer, so the wipes won't be cold on his bummy. (What a life)! He is under the constant watch of his loving parents. I remember watching my babies all day long and not getting a thing done. It's such a fulfilling feeling to take care of a baby. It's the greatest joy I have ever felt.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow Our Grandbaby Begins
Carson Daniel Green born Friday 10/10/08 at around 12:30 p.m. weighing in at a whopping 10 lbs. 1 oz. and 22 inches long. Rick said he came out wearing cleats, I'm sure Lachelle thought so too. Hats off to you Lachelle....I can't even imagine. 3 hours of pushing would do me in. But mommy and baby are doing fine and life couldn't be better. I got to hold him finally after helping Rick down in Douglas with a bike race. He is the cutest chubby cheek baby with lots of long black hair. It's like holding a 3 week baby. Danny had to go back to the house to get a bigger size outfit, the one they brought to the hospital might fit his big toe. I love his name, so cleaver since Danny loves his cars and they've named their 2 dogs after cars. So now we have a Carson. Also a worthy note is Carson was born on 10/10 and weighing 10 lbs. and his daddy's nickname is "Big 10" wouldn't you know......and he rates a 10 in my book. I am a very proud Grandma actually not Grandma but nickname "G.G." for Grandma Green. I thought I would nickname myself before any one else might tack on something not so cute. Also of noteworthiness is he was born on Uncle Phil's birthday who just turned 69 Happy Birthday Phil!!!! Anyway were so excited our dream really did come true...we're finally Grandparents.
