Girls Camp July 23rd - 27th

Boarding the buses for Camp Lomia/ Pine Arizona.
Our girls finally the day has arrived.
These are the 3 wisemen to greet us. The theme was "Christmas in July".
Our small ward.
The first night was skit night. Our girls skit was based on the "Twelve Days of Camp Lomia"
Happy to do a service project in camp, picking up wood chips. And my truck carried all 2 tons.
Kenzie sewing another service project.
This deer kind of followed me around for a few minutes.
I led the first year girls on a hike around Camp Lomia.
They climbed to the top of a steep mountain to the water towers and ate our breakfast. The girls got up at 5 a.m. to do this hike.
Our bishop getting toilet papered to look like a snowman. Stake President in the back left.
Kenzie doing the reindeer run.
All the girls in front of our cabin just chillin out.
Favorite pastime, (makeovers).

Girls Camp YCL High Adventure 09

This year I'm our wards Girls Camp Director. On Sat. we had the YCL's High Adventure. It was
based on the "Amazing Race" and they divided up into teams and had leaders drive the girls around town locating clues and following directions. It was a great activity for team bonding and leadership skills. 4 YCL's went from our ward and two of them were on my team, Kristin and Bethany we were called the "Green Gorilllas" ( it was so random that I got that name).

They had to canoe around Tempe Town Lake.
We had to count all the Palm trees on the temple grounds and found out a little known fact that there is exactly 198 Palm Trees on the Temple grounds.Downtown Mesa is famous for their sculptures and our girls had to pose with a statue on Main Street.
This years YCL girls.

Breakfast ! Carly's most important part of the day.Plank Walk : requires great skill and team work.Climbing over a 10 foot wall requires strength and ability.Piece of Cake. Our team won by at least a half hour to spare!! Way to go "Green Gorillas".

Girls Camp June 4th - 7th 2008 Camp Lomia

Well after serving over 10 years in some leadership capacity at girls camp I finally get to enjoy it with my own daughter Mackenzie! I was her cabin mom along with 4 other 1st year girls. We were Super Heroes in Training. Our ward was The Flash. This was the best year ever because we had great weather, and all the girls seemed to get along and we just had a really fun time.
