Mom's Birthday

Happy 88th Birthday Shout out to my mom (Doris Marjorie 'Lee' Bashore) . My brother Craig and his wife Debbie came over
to help celebrate the happy occasion. We had alot of fun trying to blow out the self lighting candles. We got kind of concerned she would pass out from trying to blow them out. Mom is still doing well, loves to play scrabble twice a week, enjoys reading and getting together for family gatherings. She is a wonderful mom and brings so much joy into our lives. She has had a life long
love of music and played the violin in symphony orchestra's all the way up into her early 80's. She loved to garden, sew, refinished antique furniture and belonged to many social clubs. She grew up in Valley City, North Dakota and went to Pomona College in So. Calif where she met my Dad. They lived in the same house near there beloved college for 56 years, until they moved to Mesa 3 years ago. They are enjoying a more restful and carefree life style out in sunny Arizona.HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM

Annual Change Your Age Day

It always comes around, nothing you can do about it. Your friends try to console you, but deep down inside I'm never happy to see it come. I just realized the year I was born is how old I am this year! So I'm turning it into a positive note and am going to say this year is my luckiest year yet. It's so lucky because I have so many wonderful friends and family. Thank you everyone for all your well wishes and gifts. The week started out with a great breakfast at T.C. Eggington's with our ladies from Young Women's, thanks to Louisa for another great time. I got crazy with the camera and drew a smiley face on the eggs and then a sad face for those that couldn't come. I had a yummy birthday lunch with my neighbor and great friend, Darla. We ate at Tia Rosa's and I had my favorite (shrimp tacos). My 2 month old grandbaby Carson came over to help me celebrate and Diane G. and Darla came over to talk baby talk and show me the ropes of being a terrific gramma; like they are. They got Carson to smile and goo-goo for the camera. I had Young Women's tonight and they showered me with more gifts and cupcakes. Jane B. came for the last time and was priviledged to get one of her famous designer aprons that she makes. I hope I can do justice to the apron and cook up some delicious gourmet meals like she does. We'll miss you Jane and Ally, best of luck in your new ward. Hope they treat you nicely. Thank you everyone for helping me get through this day. Remember to "Bloom where your planted" no matter what stage your in (bud, blossom or wilting).

Mackenzie's Burnin Up 13th Birthday Luau

Can't ever have too much fun (in Kenzie's world).
I said "Okay" to a birthday backyard luau, but in August with no pool how do you keep cool. ( We rented a big blowup water slide.) I said "Okay" to about 20 of her closest friends, well about 40 showed up and boys too! Rick kept everything under control with his ever looming presence. The neighbors were nice enough not to call the cops. (The jamm'in music was a bit loud). The teenage yrs. have arrived in full force. I got through the boys okay but girls could be tricky.

Uncle Greg's Surprise Birthday Party /28th June

Charlotte surprised Greg for his birthday with a big birthday bash at Greg's parents house.
He had no idea about the party since it was a week before his birthday. It was fun to hear him load up his coke glass with ice before we surprised him. I liked the picture with Grampa Green and Greg and Rick. Greg has broken his neck a few times and I'm sure the neck pillow will come in handy.
It was fun to visit with Greg's kids, I took a picture of David and Christopher and coined them "HAIR and HAIRLESS".
