Mackenzie's Burnin Up 13th Birthday Luau

Can't ever have too much fun (in Kenzie's world).
I said "Okay" to a birthday backyard luau, but in August with no pool how do you keep cool. ( We rented a big blowup water slide.) I said "Okay" to about 20 of her closest friends, well about 40 showed up and boys too! Rick kept everything under control with his ever looming presence. The neighbors were nice enough not to call the cops. (The jamm'in music was a bit loud). The teenage yrs. have arrived in full force. I got through the boys okay but girls could be tricky.

Oceanside July 2008 Family Migration

Every year around this time a few of the die hard "Greenies" get together and flock down to
the old Oceanside Harbor Stomping ground. We have a week to get sand in every nick and cranny possible. Rick's sister, Marilyn and her broad always come and this year the Rick Green side came with exception of Derek who's in London. Good times were had by all except maybe when Jeff got hung up on the jetty while attempting to surf, (not a pretty site). But it was so fun watching all the little grandkids play in the sand and just hang out and read all those books you never get around to reading. Rick finished 3 books! Kenzie celebrated her 13th birthday and we had a pizza party in the recreation room. Brandon, our break dancer, was our entertainment. I'll have to put a video of that on. Rick and Jon rode their bikes from Gramma Green's house to Oceanside, about 100 miles. Then Jon didn't get enough miles in so the next day he rode back up to Gramma's to get his car. Rick and Nancy had some good rides on their bikes, a favorite is always on the Marine Base and a new favorite is to ride up to the top of Torrey Pines and back, about 50 miles of hills. Kenzie and Kyle spent most of their waking hours in the water practicing their surfing skills. We had a feast at the Claim Jumper with everyone pigging out.
