Carson's 1st Sleepover

We had Carson spend the last 5 nights with us. It was a lot of fun and he was such a little gentleman. Grandpa can't resist a cute face wanting a piece of fruit pizza. I wanted to take a picture of his hands folded behind his back. He would walk around the house with them folded behind his back like a little professor.
Here he is in my Dad's rocking chair that was build for him which is probably close to 90 years old. It was just the right size for the little guy. (Four generations have used this sturdy little chair.)

It was a beautiful day to go to the zoo. Here we are up close with the elephants.Carson "King of the Pumpkin Patch" (looks like he just pushed that cute little boy down but it wasn't the case.

This is the newest exhibit at the Phoenix Zoo. "Land of the Dragons" Komodo Dragons that is.
This is a female about 6 feet long. They have 2 komodo dragons which they keep separated.
Carson enjoying some of Granny's cooking. Thanks for coming over and making our life a little bit better. We love grand kids, and we can't wait for Jon and Ivette to have their new baby expected in May.

Service Activity

One of my callings in the church is to work with the Achievement Day girls. This week we made cute headbands to give to the Humanitarian Center. The girls had fun making them and made an extra one for themselves. We meet twice a month, once with everyone (which is about 13 girls) and then we split them up and I'm with the girls 10-11 yr. olds. They are a fun bunch and I love working with them.

All Together

Finally after 12 days of waiting to get surgery on Ricks arm the day came. Here is Rick going into the Arizona Orthopedic Surgery Hosp. This was at 8:30 a.m. This is an amazing hospital which our doctor is part owner of. His office is right next door.
This is Dr. Hardison our long time friend and neighbor who is explaining what he is about to do on Ricks arm. Rick went into surgery about 10:00 a.m. and finished up about 11:30. The surgery went well and he came out of it with flying colors.
After 2 plates and 6 screws his shoulder and bones are all put back together. The doctor called it "putting the ice cream back on the cone". It kind of does look like an ice cream cone.
This is Dr. Hardison after surgery checking to see if Rick's arm nerves were not damaged in the operation.
Everything looks good!
Carson came over to play with all the fun equipment. We really felt everyone's prayers and concern. We are just so thankful everything went well and Rick is on the road to recovery.

Rick's surgery

We just came from Dr. Hardison's office and looks like Rick will need some surgery.
Doctor said this is not your ordinary break. He is scheduled for surgery on Wed. the
11th. They are planning on putting 2 plates and screws into his shoulder. It will be an
over night stay.
