Activity Day Girls Recognition Night

"Bloom Where Your Planted" was our theme for the recognition night. I'm one of three other leaders on the "Dream Team" for the activity day girls. Each of us are incharge of a month to
come up with activities for the girls. Which is great, but my month was the recognition night and
I had to come up with the ideas. So I used my Blog logo, Bloom where your Planted and the rest was easy. Heather made these fantastic invitations.

Karen made special flower cupcakes for the girls used with gum drops flattened and them cut to the shape of a flower. I made the rest of the cupcakes for everyone else with just frosting on top.

Louisa let us borrow the cute flowers to hang along with the girls tissue paper flowers that were spread all around.
Gail came up with cute programs and certificates to hand out to the girls along with a DVD of
all the pictures we took of the girls activities. I took pictures of flowers at the temple and entered them into the video with pictures of the Mesa Temple and visitor center paintings along
with music it turned out really nice. About 9 min. long we watched it after the girls sang, "If The Savior Stood Beside Me." Then Bro. Deron ( 2nd counselor in Bishopric) talked about the Faith in God Book and likened their testimony to a Bamboo Bush and how it stays under the ground for 5 years and then shoots up 60 ft in 6 weeks. He did a great job.

The girls displayed some the things they have been working on all year/ Everyone had a great time. I think the girls need to have a talent show. They are really talented!!!The girls made tissue paper flowers the week before to decorate the R.S. Room. They helped clean up by taking them home. JoAnn's had a big package of tissue paper for $10.00 and then with the coupon they were about $6.00. The whole activity cost about $30.00

Married 67 years

Mom and Dad's anniversay was today....married 67 years. They are a very special couple. My Dad pretty much dedicated his whole life into serving my mom. I am very lucky to have them as parents. They still care and watch out for each other. . . I'm so glad they are living close to me where we can have them over for dinner each Sunday.

Family Reunion at the beach

San Diego temple under renovation. Interesting look for this beautiful temple.
No sun for this baby boy Jon. Derek is looking for the most sun.
Kenzie brought her friend Remy with cute cousins Ashley and Brooklyn.
Nathan and Rick jumping the hole.
Ivette and grandbaby Maylee enjoying her first beach experience. We were there 9 days, beach was rocky and messed up from some storm. I did some mega bike rides, and Jon got a separated shoulder from getting side swiped by a truck. Weather was getting nicer day by day, it was in the high 80's by the time we left.

Mesa Temple Summer Flowers

I took pictures of flowers at the temple for a project I'm doing for the girls activity day program at the end of the month. I made a DVD for the girls called "Bloom Where You Are Planted". Your testimonies need to be strong like the roots of a plant, if you want to have a beautiful joyful life.

Shark Week Birthday

In honor of "SHARK WEEK" Kenzie had a shark birthday party. I made this elegant birthday cake with a shark coming out of it. The girls loved watching me make it. Kenzie and Macy celebrated their birthdays together. A sleepover at my house....2 marathon back to back days of girls. They had a chocolate pudding slip n' slide and a midnight t.p. rondevu I'm glad to get my house back and peace and quiet. When does school start?
